VMware Is Looking to Hire Partner Systems Engineers!!

VMware is currently looking to fill several Partner Systems Engineers openings for their Partner SE Organization. VMware’s Partner SE’s manage their Distribution and Corporate Reseller (CR) partners by enabling them on VMware solutions to help them be more knowledgeable on our solutions and to ultimately help them increase their VMware revenue.

Partner SE Job Description:

The VMware Partner Systems Engineer plays a critical role in building and sustaining relationships with key national partners.  The Partner SE works very closely with VMware partner sales leadership to build long-term relationships and guide partners into the Software Defined Data Center using solution-based sales methodologies. The Partner SE is a highly visible role responsible for evangelizing VMware technologies within their partners as well as serving as an advocate for their partners within VMware.

A high degree of technical knowledge with VMware products and/or with competitor products is required.


  • 5+ years’ experience in technology related work, including roles in technical pre-sales and/or customer-facing roles.
  • Current VMware VCP certification required and multiple certifications preferred
  • Enthusiastic, self-starter with a charismatic personality
  • Ability to see and present “the big picture” and offer solutions to make it better
  • Strong customer-facing and relationship-building skills
  • Must be effective in working both independently and in a team setting
  • Strong listening and question/curiosity based selling skills
  • Ability to uncover business challenges and develop solutions to solve those challenges
  • Domain experience with enterprise applications, security, systems management, networking and DR solutions preferred
  • Ability to travel as necessary
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience required


  • Present VMware value proposition to partners and customers
  • Own the technical side of the partner’s relationship with VMware and increase their competency with VMware solutions
  • Collaborate with Partner Business Managers and marketing teams to drive partner sales and exceed partnership revenue goals
  •  Increase partner sales and delivery capacity around key focus areas such as hyper converged infrastructure (HCI), software-defined networking, and software-defined storage
  • Manage and grow the technical accreditations and certifications held by the partner
